Why do I need to write?

Writing, why do I need it? Sure it can be used to keep a track of all the chaotic comings and goings in our lives, but what for what purpose other than self-appreciation do they serve? Actually, the truth of the matter is there are many ways writing can be used to keep a very helpful track of the various activities you do in your life as well as easily share them with others. One example of this is computer programming and I’ll get to some of how that works in just a second.

Now you may be wondering why writing out our lives in something like a blog is much better than keeping a track of it ourselves. Well, since blogs are more open and viewable by the general public, it requires a certain level of professionalism in how we do them. This professionalism is what requires writing skills. Obviously you wouldn’t be writing things such as your private information or other such things in a blog to be shared with others, but instead they allow you to push for much more purposeful items of discussion. Furthermore they allow for a place for others to convene and consider in almost real time. Even later on, you may actually be require to write something other than a blog but much more formal such as a project draft or assessment that you wouldn’t want to be screwing up on.

Writing something out either physically or on the computer allows it to be much more objectively shared and viewed. One might decide to write a post about an ingenious method about computer programming and allow others to view it, or maybe possibly just to point out an interesting tidbit. This information would then be open to the general public to comment, rate and acknowledge. Furthermore, this can allow someone to much more easily convey their intentions to others over mediums such as social networking and online sharing. This saves the hassle of having to use more physical means of communication and is much more accessible to everyone else.

Another method that writing can be used is in the form of a record log. Keeping a track or record of all your activities either on a project or hobby can be an easy fix for allowing yourself to have an easily accessible backup. Furthermore, laying out your ideas on paper, be it virtual or physical, allows you to much more easily keep track of them. It is easier to organize and sift through a well written log then it is to re-read things such as code and manually find errors in them. This also allows writing some things such as debugging logs to be much more effective than ordinary means of debugging.

Essentially the matter of fact is that writing is a skill that stresses on accessibility and can be used and understood by just about everyone. Ease of access and the fact it can come in many forms allows for one to easily convey his or her intentions to others. Furthermore, formal writing skills are required in the field of computer engineering and programming as one would not want to cause any unnecessary confusion on a project or work. All of this shows essential writing skills can be a very handy asset to have and should not be ignored.
